Colorado has a vast selection of skateparks… almost anything a skateboarder could want is here… street or tranny, it’s here… then why do we always end up at Elyria Johnson park or York manny pad? i have done a lot of thinking about these actions and i am gonna tell you a bit about it…
i realized many of the dudes in the noLove camp come from the midwest… then i thought about what skateboarding like for me growing up in the midwest… it all started making a little more sense… we didn’t have the skatepark in every town… our training facility (TF) was a street spot… a strip mall parking lot or a gazebo in a park… it was pretty raw when i think back to those days…
so now that we have the opportunity to hit a dope park like denver, parker, or lafayette, it seems we would take advantage of that… right? wrong! haha… the problem with having a dope park is that everyone and their grandma wants to not only shred it but be there… a crowded skatepark seems far from what skateboarding was and is to me… getting snaked or ran into by a scooter is not normal when you are skateboarding… maybe a random conversation with a bum or a huge crack in front of the obstacle being skated would make me feel more at home..

all skateboarders know about the crazy shit we see and put up with out in the streets… all the bums, security guards, hippies, and whatever else is out there… i have endless amounts of stories… i could probably write an entire book about the shit i’ve seen while shredding the streets… there are a few that stick out in my mind…
