i agree with this mindset to a certain extent, but people ignore the fact that hard work goes into most things that are made… especially in the skateboarding industry… money is spread so thin by every company, no matter how big or small… it is a tough industry to succeed in… you gotta hustle… constantly…

our local skate shops in the Denver area are awesome… they have open-minded and unselfish owners… the primary focus of their businesses is to push and promote skateboarding with their differing styles… awesome.

what i am getting at is if you go into their shop, realize that when you buy something, you are supporting the shop just as much as the brand you bought… the shop and brand are collaborating to bring you what they think is true skateboarding… you go into the shop because you wanna support them both…

price should never be an issue… asking for discounts or why something is more expensive than another place shouldn’t come up… there is a purpose to every price… feel good that your money is going back into skateboarding… when you buy something at a bigger, corporate owned shop your hard earned money will disappear into some bullshit… keep your money in skateboarding…

respect your local shop and owner… the respect will be reciprocated and you will be rewarded in the future…

naturally, my eyes wander… i see lots of things, but some things stand out… i kept seeing fake boobs wherever we went! over and over and over… instead of thinking “whoa, nice!”, i thought “who doesn’t have fake boobs around here?”…

i started thinking about how desensitized to fake boobs i became in just 2 days… it’s weird that they became a norm for me so quickly… people that live there must look down upon women that don’t have fake ones… what?!

is there ever a thought that a girl shouldn’t have fake boobs? think about the pressure a girl must feel to get fake boobs… it is the standard in Scottsdale, so why wouldn’t you get fake boobs?

it is just insane to me that people would allow this trend to become a norm… altering your characteristics to look like everyone else makes no sense… the uniqueness we are born with is beautiful enough… don’t people realize that what is considered “beautiful” is a media-driven belief? it is engrained in us from day one…

fake boobs are fake… be yourself…

i have expressed it before, but i know that life is a gift… we are not supposed to be here, but we are… so i will take the opportunity to smile and be happy as long as my heart beats… my purpose in this world is to positively affect as many people as i can… i will continue to do that until i cannot… but i also realize that none of this matters in the end… my light will go out and the world will continue to spin… my existence is useless to our understanding of our purpose… and i can live (or die) with that…

with the knowledge/belief just explained, i still feel the need to express myself… if it doesn’t matter at all in the end, why do i bother? what is my opinion gonna matter? my only explanation for that is that it doesn’t matter… you have to do some things to feel fulfilled… expressing myself makes me happy…

i can assure you that my inner dialogue about this topic has been way more complex and deranged… regardless, i think people can relate to this… constantly trying to find your purpose in life can be draining… knowing that life is something to be celebrated is a good start… figuring out the rest is the fun part!

not only do you have to be careful of how you drive, but it’s almost just as important to watch the idiots around you… i feel like people are not aware of what they are doing when they are driving… well, lemme open up some eyeballs…

cars are not toys… cars are machines… insane machines… they weigh around 2 tons and they travel over 100mph… the amount of destruction that can be done with a “small” or “compact” car is amazing…

what i’ve just mentioned is not really news to anyone who has been driving for more than a year… but i wanted to point out that we get so used to hopping in the car and just driving… not conscious of how powerful the machine we are operating really is… people get reminded of how powerful it is when things go wrong…

it’s insane to know how many cars are on the road… it’s insane that almost everyone has a car… we are insane.

think about your driving next time you get in a car… it’s more than likely that you suck at driving and are a liability to everyone else on the road… so be aware that you are driving a machine… not a car. you’ll be helping us all out…
