i have to admit that i have been slacking a bit on shredding… the combination of winter and a healing wrist made me content to sit on my ass… getting out and pushing around, even if it’s only for a half hour, is always worth it… fracturing my wrist in November implanted an “are you sure?” virus in my head… every time i wanna go screw around, i think about that shit day… my wrist is about fully healed and the timing is legit…

this summer has some seriously fun shit in store for us (and i hope for everyone else)… mountains/camping/shredding/road tripping/eating/drinking/bbqing/working/partying/playing/crushing… we are gonna try to get some noLove events going at some BBQ friendly parks… getting the Denver skateboarders together and celebrating life/skateboarding is the shit!

i have been feeling daunted by all the stuff that is about to go down… but instead of thinking about the future, i remain in the present… that is all you can do… one thing at a time, one day at a time… live every day the way you want to… have no regrets and leave nothing behind…

skateboarding is constantly throwing curveballs and bullshit at shop owners… whether it is ordering product 6 months before it’s actually available to missing out on DVD sales because of Internet releases, these guys stay in the game for the love of it… they know what skateboarding is… they know how it has helped them… they want to give that help back… they offer themselves to the skateboarding world… that needs to be acknowledged for sure…

without the skate shops that slang noLove stuff, we wouldn’t be recognizable… i know i am indebted to them for helping spread the noLove vibe around… i thank Crisis, Community, 303 Boards, Meta, Denver Shop, Diabolical, and Public Eye for pushing skateboarding in your neighborhoods… look how far you’ve come… kudos.

to the shop owners all around CO – keep on keepin’ on… you inspire us all by your persistence, purpose, and knowledge… f#ck em all… stay up.

i’ve said it before and i will say it again, we live in our own realities… so what something is or seems to someone else most likely is completely different for you… so i see noLove as my spin on skateboarding… it is a way for me to “work” with my friends… collaborate with artists… meet new people… and most importantly, skateboard and document Denver, CO. but this is my perspective… what is it to you?

i ask because i have realized that whatever noLove is, i don’t really care… i just do it… i am inspired by my friends, 100%… they would say i push them, but they push me… we drive around aimlessly and end up at some shitty spot… then we turn it into gold… i film whomever wants a clip… it grows into something bigger than just a trick at a spot… we all remember every mission, no matter how big or small.

i sit down and write a little something once in awhile… i call it “Wisdom” but for all i know, its junk… i just know that these things in my head need to get out there… somewhere… wherever they end up, i don’t care… i keep my mouth shut most of the time, but my mind never stops… thanks for reading my insanity.

but really, i want to hear a bit about what we can improve on… constructive criticism is always appreciated… what is good on site? what is bad? what do we lack? how can the site be improved? do there need to be more weekly updates?

we will continue to shred… summer is near.

as i get older and older, i realize there are many people that sit around and wait on other people to help them live their life… the amount of DIY’ers are few and far between… everyday is an opportunity for something… a new trick, a new spot, a old skatepark, a new friend, whatever… every moment you have on this earth is a moment worth seizing… and no one else is going to seize it the way you want it to be seized…

i have lived by a code in my life for about 10 years now… “do not rely on anyone for anything ever”… this sounds harsh and selfish, but it is not something i preach… it is something that has been ingrained into my skull… it has motivated me to not sit around… if you want something done, do it yourself… if you have someone else do it, it will not be done the way you want it… it keeps me on my feet… it makes me involved.

if you ask for nothing then when can you be disappointed?

it is nice to have a favor done for you here and there in life… but you cannot expect favors from people… you’ll be let down… your expectations will not be met… it’s the way it is.

skateboarding teaches you that sitting around accomplishes nothing… when you are sitting around, you could be on your board… no one is gonna skate for you… so get off your ass and DIY that shit!

DIY this life! get after it… don’t sit around waiting on everyone else… be the fire-starter! burn that bitch sky high! who gives a shit! no regrets… ever.
