soul vs. no soul…

whenever i stop in to Crisis Skateshop in Broomfield, i have meaningful/awesome conversation with my homie FUZZ… he runs the shop and the scene in Broomfield, CO… he runs a shop that is core to the core… skateboarder owned everything… don’t step foot in there if you are looking for big box/corporate bullshit… you won’t find it, but you will get an earful of wisdom that we all need… the man knows his shit, period.

we chat, talk shit, and figure out how to change the systems and cycles in the skate industry… we both have our own perspectives and bounce them off each other constantly… he’s got a good 7 years on me in the shredding career and it’s good to know we see almost everything eye-to-eye…

we were talking about him progressing and moving forward when many other shops around town shut down their business… i started thinking about why this would happen… besides the fact that FUZZ is the fucking man, why did his shop prevail and progress? i said to him that his shop has more than purpose… having just the purpose to exist isn’t enough… we realized (having talked about it in previous conversations) that his shop is his soul… it’s his baby… it’s his passion… it’s purpose isn’t to just be a shop and make money… Crisis exists because FUZZ’s soul is in it… and his soul is 100% skateboarder… 100% Colorado shredder… it won’t stop… it won’t quit because FUZZ won’t let it… he’s not capable of not perpetuating it… but these other places that pop-up and fail don’t have that soul… don’t have that purpose… they exist on dollar signs and convenience… some people just need to be in the skateboard industry… it’s the only thing that keeps them going… FUZZ has and will continue to pave the way for us all…

go by Crisis and support local and core shredding… it’s all you can do to keep us pushing forward…

peace and noLove…
