funerals are dead…

there have been some deaths in my family as of late… death is always followed by funerals… funerals are pretty depressing gatherings… i do, however, embrace the fact that they bring people together… maybe someone you haven’t see in a few years or a person you have never met but are still connected to by the deceased…

i feel like funerals are a thing of the past… i feel like someone needs to instill a new way to commemorate a life… gathering up a bunch of people to be sad together seems dichotic… when people come together, it is usually a party or celebration, right? i think we have lost sight of life’s fun… you remember the good times… not the bad… when it’s all over, you created a story… every single one of us has a story… right?

now, some people are saying to themselves, “yeah, but what about the tragedies?” well, i believe that the end of someone’s life can very well be tragic… but how you deal with it is on you… we all have our own ways of coping with a lost loved one… some can get over it quickly, when others may never get over it…

i look at it from the deceased’s perspective (if that makes any sense at all)… how would they want you to feel? how would they want to be appreciated/remembered?

i mean, when i die, i want people to freaking party… i mean, rage! i want people to talk about the good times and funny shit we did together… i want them to talk and remember my life with them… if people cry, they get kicked out of the rager… if they know me, they know it’s about smiling… it’s about the moment you are in and enjoying it…

so maybe i am that guy that will kill funerals… haha… that’d be sick…

RIP Grandma Elisabeth Gelber…

peace and noLove…
