turning the page = changing the deck…

i was going through some old decks the other day… as i was going through them, i started remembering tricks i did and good times i had… it was like going back through a diary i had been keeping… it was a really cool feeling… you know how a familiar scent is the most powerful way to recall a memory? it felt like that…

i then started thinking about the memories i would have if i went home and checked out the decks my mom and dad have been saving for me… i am pretty sure i have a few boxes full of decks i skated and put to rest… there are probably some OG companies in those boxes… sonic, shorty’s, consolidated, etc… it’s always a great feeling to take it back to the good ol’ days…

i know that if i pulled out those decks it would remind me of all the spots we used to destroy… all the spots that used to destroy us! all the tricks i used to be able to do… all the tricks i learned how to do… every deck has a story within it… i know every skater that ever sees an old deck laying around knows what i’m talking about…

it’s pretty amazing to look back on where skateboarding has taken us… to the worst parts of town but the best spots to skate… to the shittiest spots that were the most fun… it’s a story that continues to be written with every new board you setup…

i guess you could say riding and writing are about the same to a skateboarder… so, i’ll put it this way, keep wriding…

peace and noLove…
