you know when to stop…

one of the more recent sessions at the warehouse got my head spinnin’… it was a more mellow session… just a couple doods chilllin’, skatin’, and talkin’ shit… nothing too crazy… all of a sudden a match was lit…

grant started huckin’ his body at the electrical box at the top of the bank ramp… he battled for a minute and eventually rode away with a front wall jam on it… that thing is so small and dangerous… i don’t know how anyone skates it…

energy was at a high and seemed like it was coming down… not so fast! grant had obviously fired himself up as well as the session! he started throwing his body at the bank to doorway gap to wallride… what? no…

this is where my head started spinnin’… i was baffled at grant’s self motivation, persistence, and will… i started thinking about how sick it is when we can inspire ourselves on skateboards… how we can see something, big or small, and get the energy and confidence to conquer it… we create that within ourselves! it also becomes viral within the crew… it is a contagious energy…

we all do it… i got the thought about it in my head when i saw grant killing himself for this trick… it was awesome… it was the first time i have had the thought run through my head to stop a friend from trying a trick… i was thinking, “this is too much” and “maybe another day”… but i bit my tongue… i knew he wouldn’t settle for not riding away… i wouldn’t have either…

when you go and skate with your homies, try to be that spark that lights the fire… when you get inspired, it is felt by everyone… whether it is skateboarding or not… exude a positive energy… it is contagious and circular…

peace and noLove
