does that count?

so, we had a sick game of SKATE at the warehouse the past weekend… it was sweet! there were so many positives that came out of it… so many rippers showed up and crushed faces… a lot of new faces and sick flip tricks… i mean, sick flip tricks… switch big heels, backside bigger spin flips, fakie impossibles, whatever… shit that makes little sense…

all the games were really competitive… intense… fun to watch… i was the judge on the games so i saw pretty much all of them (i say pretty much because i had to do some weird stuff in between a few tricks so i didn’t see all of them, haha)…

the crowd and competitors were feeling it… emotions and tensions were high and positive…

next thing you know, the championship was under way… you would think it would be a long, dramatic game, right?

wrong… the champion started the game off with 360 shuvits… and not the dope ones… nollie and fakie… people can do these tricks but not on call… he then stepped into the impossible and fakie impossible realm… so the championship game lasted about 6 minutes… maybe shorter…

there was so much energy in the club prior to this game… you would think that the place would explode when the winner was crowned… it didn’t… there was silence and a few boo’s… boo’s? what? i was not impressed…

a few days after the game, a friend said about the game of SKATE, “it’s a gentlemen’s game”… i initially laughed… but then sat back and thought, “yea, it is…” i mean, you play skate and you want to keep the integrity of the game… you should want to throw down kickflips, heelflips, 3 flips, switch shuvits, etc…

i thought the integrity of SKATE and skateboarding was impaled by this game… although the party and game was a huge success, i want to apologize to the contestants… especially the runner up, Jason Lang, who destroyed it… he deserved the crown and the cash… he received a sick noLove Tree Logo deck for his efforts…

to the kids out there… skate the way you do, but always uphold the art and ability to skate over your personal successes… it will take you way further than you would think…

peace and noLove

Hey, nolove guys, this is the piece of shit that won the game. i think i desereved more than a few boos. maybe someone should have kicked my ass or broke my board or something. I too apologized to jason for the game. maybe yall could make more rules? like u must pop your trick, you must do a “kickflip, heelflip, 3 flip and switch shov” at some point, or you must only do tricks people like and have “on call”, if setteing the trick you must land perfect… whatever u think would make for a better game to watch. By the way, steven gritz shouldn’t have got a letter against him on the dolfin flip jason did. its a rotation of a mob variel kickflip technically and steve landed a variel flip so in reality……im not so sure about the game they had. in the final game, i personally was just warming myself up with super basics, tricks even easier than a kickflip. its not like i did body variels, late shovs, late flips or pressure flips. im sorry i didnt do the tricks people wanted me to do. i figured jason would land all that shit and we would move on to more entertaining tricks. when andrew gave me the money for winning, i said i feel bad and like a LITTLE BITCH for taking the win. so just so you know, im not proud or anything. i was just trying have a bit of money to eat at least one meal a day. fuck, i was skating glued together shoes. im really sorry to all the people i bummed. homeboy is right about it beeing a gentlemens game to a certain degree. i dont think im the only person that plays a bit different when theres money on the line tho. But, since the title of the blog for that night is, “DOES THAT FAGGOT ANTON REALLY GET TO WIN THE GAME BY DOING UNCOOL TRICKS” i guess im wondering if you guys are tellng me i need to bring the money back? So jason and i could give u a game that “counts”. you could even make a rule of no impossibles or fakie impossibles, no nollie backside flips, no nollie or fakie big-spins, and no nollie 3 shovs. is that what you guys would like? Would it then count? my apologies also for having no art or ability to my skateboarding. im not looking for skating to take me “farther” anyways, thats not what im about. Its, just something ive been addicted to for 21 years and is all i know, im a lifer. Honestly, other than the game i shouldnt have won, thanks alot for letting everyone skate and skate after the game. and thanks alot for the food, that was nice of yall. and thanks to parris for beeing the d j.
