a dash of control…

are we really free?

i feel like i grew up in a society where almost everything was forced upon me… i didn’t ask for that nor did i deserve it… in no way, shape, or form am i questioning my upbringing because i have the best family in the world and they have made me who i am today…

i guess what i am getting at is, who decided what we learn, when we learn it, and how we learn it? we are shaped and manipulated at such an early age that it gives us little room for discovery… we are told what we need to learn… we are not allowed to question it… school is important but the subject matter needs a makeover…

a huge part of our education comes from being in everyday life situations… we live in such fear that the world outside of “home” is dangerous, and we need to shelter our youth from it…

this is where skateboarding steps into my life… once i got out (snuck out) of my hometown, i started seeing and experiencing new things… my eyes were wide open… at the time i didn’t know it was having such a drastic effect on my life, but now i do… i felt and feel free when i am away from my comfort zone… being places i am not supposed to be… skating, laughing, falling, and experiencing…

we are capable of so much more at a young age, but we are so controlled and shaped… it’s insane/warped… I cannot complain that we are not civil and better off than other societies, but there is too much of an underlying theme of control…

get out of your comfort zone… get away from the things that are “safe” and “okay”… challenge yourself in whatever you do… you’ll feel rejuvenated…

Once children find the reason and knowledge to understand the terms of the society in which they are living,it is up to them to step away from the forced agenda and create their own reality. It is also up to the parents and teachers of the world to not shelter their children, but to help the levitate above the bullshit! move your body- free your mind
